Steering Committee
The steering committee serves to drive the work of VAC by directing and updating the tasks outlined in the VAC 2008-2011 Strategic Plan, managing the Virginia Support of local Asthma Projects (VSAP) funding, and overseeing all VAC action teams.

 

Asthma Action Plan Team
The Asthma Action Plan Team works to review the Asthma Action Plan (AAP) and update annually to incorporate best practices, develop a plan to evaluate the use of the AAP in Virginia schools, and track/evaluate AAP usage.

 

Asthma Summit Action Team
The Asthma Summit Action Team coordinates, develops, and provides education and training to VAC members. Tasks include identifying and securing logistic support (date, host site, host coalition, etc), developing an agenda and invite/secure speakers, developing conference action plan with dates and task assignments, and marketing, facilitating, and evaluating the conference.

 

Communication and Training Action Team
The Communication and Training Action Team provides guidance regarding asthma issues through the development of communication campaigns for guidelines and links/resources, key messages for lay public to promote evidence-based community asthma education, identification and promotion of CME opportunities, and by providing the updated version of the NAEPP Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma on the VAC website.

 

Website Action Team
The Website Action Team is a short-term group tasked to review and update information on the VAC website, update old and post new VAC-developed forms, plans, and bylaws to the site, develop a listing of resources and links to post to the site, and review the site for any useful tools/pages needed.
